Teen Programs| Age 11+ 

 

Intensive Program


This program is designed to allow dancers to focus more intensively on their technique and is a stepping-stone to our Performance Company. Classes range from 1 hour - 1.5 hours each week. Dancers in this level can choose to dance anywhere from 1 to 6 hour per week. 

·       Intensive Classes:

o  Technique Classes:These classes focus on technique. Dancers do not learn performance dances during Technique Only Classes.

§   Ballet Technique | 1hr 15 min /week– Classical Ballet Technique

§  Skills & Conditioning Technique| 1 hour/ week- Stretch, Strength, Jumps, Turns, Leaps

§  Progressive Ballet Technique | 1 hour/ week – Ballet technique using props

o  Choreography Classes: These classes focus on teaching choreography to be performed in our Annual Performance. Dancers must be enrolled in 1 Intensive Technique Class to be eligible to enroll in choreography classes.

§  Contemporary/Lyrical Choreography | 30 min/ week 

§  Jazz Choreography | 30 min/week

§  Classical Ballet Variations Choreography | 30 min/week*- Pointe/Pre-Pointe

·       Choreography classes will perform 1 dance per choreography class in the Annual Performance, and will be required to purchase 1 costume per choreography class. *Classical Variation students will be charged a costume rental fee in lieu of purchasing a costume.  Technique Only Classes do not perform in the Annual Performance.

·       Class Ages are a guideline for registration. Students will be placed at the level of class they have technically accomplished at teachers discretion to ensure the best & safest dance education for your child.

Teen Ballet Technique- Monday 5:30-6:45

Teen Pre-Pointe/Pointe- Monday 6:45-7:15

Teen Contemporary Choreography- Monday 7:15-7:45

Teen Skills & Conditioning- Thursday 6:00-7:00

Teen Jazz Choreography 7:00-7:30

Open PBT- 7:30-8:30

 

Power Program 

The Power Program classes combine technique and choreography into one class. Classes range from 30 min- 1 hour/ week. 

·       Tap| 45 min/week 

·       Hip Hop| 30 min/week

·       Acrobatics  |30min/week (Beginner) 1 hour/week (Intermediate/Advanced)

All Power Program classes will perform 1 dance in the Annual Performance and require 1 costume per class.

Beginner Acro- Monday 6:00-6:30

Intermediate/Advance Acro- Tuesday 7:00-8:00

Intermediate/Advanced Hip Hop- Thursday 5:30-6:00

Open PBT- Thursday 7:30-8:30

Company Program

§  Company Rehearsal | 30 min/week –rehearsal of competition choreography 

§  Tap Tech & Choreography – MAY BE ADDED BASED ON INTEREST

·       Modern Ensemble: Modern ensemble is our pre-professional concert dance company comprised of all RCD Students. This is an additional program, and is required for all Teen/Senior Company Members. 

§  Modern Ensemble | 1 hour 30 min/week (does not compete)

 

·       Choreography classes will perform/compete 1 dance per choreography class in the Annual Performance & each competition, and will be required to purchase 1 costume per choreography class. Classical Variations and Modern Ensemble will be charged a costume rental fee in lieu of purchasing a costume. 

·       Class Ages are a guideline for registration. Students will be placed at the level of class they have technically accomplished at teachers discretion to ensure the best & safest dance education for your child.

·       Company Members attend 1 convention, 2-3 competitions per year in addition to the Annual Performance & Modern Ensemble Performance.

·       Additional performance opportunities may be available through out the year for our company dancers.

·       We are striving to grow and stretch as dancers, to improve our technique, to experience performing for audiences, receiving constructive criticism, and ultimately, to enjoy the art of dance. 

·       Foundational, Power, & Intensive dancers may be invited to participate in the Production number. All dancers in the Production number must attend both competitions.
