TINY TALENTS | On Location Dance Classes for Pre-Schools & Daycares
Ages 2-5
Tiny Talents of RCD is an on-location dance class designed to meet the needs of Parents, Students and Schools desiring dance education for their children. We make it easy by coming to YOU!

Our Tiny Talents Dancers meet at your school for a weekly  30-minute Ballet class that focuses on the foundational aspects of movement.

  • Focus includes classical Ballet positions and arms, rhythm and musicality, and spatial awareness, as well as the foundational aspects of sound, coordination, and rhythm.
  • In this class we develop cognitive and motor skills through learning the locations of our major body parts and practicing following instructions, all while learning basic dance steps, and having fun!

Tiny’s Program
Ages 2-4 (Ballet Buddies Ages 1.5-3)
Our Tiny Dancers meet for a weekly 30-minute Ballet class that focuses on the foundational aspects of movement.

  • Focus includes classical Ballet positions and arms, rhythm and musicality, and spatial awareness, as well as the foundational aspects of sound, coordination, and rhythm.
  • In this class we develop cognitive and motor skills through learning the locations of our major body parts and practicing following instructions, all while learning basic dance steps, and having fun!

Foundational Program
Ages 5 & up
Minis- Ages 5-7 |Juniors- Ages 8-11 | Teens Ages 12 and up
This program is the graduate program to our Tiny’s Program and is a stepping-stone to our Intensive & Company Program. Our Foundational Dancers will meet for a weekly 1 Hour Combination class that focuses on the next level of dance technique, while introducing them to a variety of genres and styles. Ages & Grades may vary.

  • Stepping stone to establish a strong start to your child’s dance training.
  • In Ballet, children will focus on the fundamentals of Ballet dance- core body strength, arms (port de bras) and correct turn out based on a student’s anatomy and muscular development is emphasized at the barré and center floor work.
  • In Tap, children will develop an outstanding sense of rhythm and musicality.
  • In Jazz, dancers will explore high-energy movement rooted in foundational Jazz Technique.
  • Foundational Dancers will perform 1-3 dances in our Annual Performance. No more than 2 costumes will need to be purchased for this program, unless enrolled in additional classes.
  • Foundational Students may also enroll in Hip Hop, Acrobatics, and Production* classes. *Production enrollment is by invitation only.

Skills Program
Ages 6 and up
Beginner 6+| Intermediate 10+| Advanced 13+ LevelsThe Skills Program is both Foundational & Intensive dancers interested in furthering their dance foundation by exploring additional dance styles. Our Skills Program classes combine technique and choreography into one class. Classes range from 30 min- 1 hour/ week.

  • Tap | 30 min/week
  • Hip Hop | 30 min/week
  • Acrobatics  |30min/week (Beginner) 1 hour/week (Intermediate/Advanced)

All Skills Program classes will perform 1 dance in the Annual Performance and require 1 costume per class. 


Intensive Program

Ages 11 and up
Teen Ages 11-13 | Seniors 13 and up
This program is designed to allow dancers to focus more intensively on their technique and is a stepping-stone to our Performance Company. Classes range from 1 hour - 1.5 hours each week. Dancers in this level can choose to dance anywhere from 1 to 6 hour per week.

  • Intensive Classes:
    • Technique Classes: These classes focus solely on technique. Dancers do not learn performance dances during Technique Only Classes.
      •  Ballet Technique | 1 hour/week
      • Skills & Conditioning Technique| 1 hour/ week
      • Progressive Ballet Technique | 1 hour/ week
    • Choreography Classes: These classes focus sole on teaching choreography to be performed in our Annual Performance. Dancers must be enrolled in 1 Intensive Technique Class to be eligible to enroll in choreography classes.
      • Contemporary/Lyrical Choreography | 30 min/ week
      • Jazz Choreography | 30 Min/week
  • Choreography classes will perform 1 dance per choreography class in the Annual Performance, and will be required to purchase 1 costume per choreography class. Technique Only Classes do not perform in the Annual Performance.
    • Class Ages are a guideline for registration. Students will be placed at the level of class they have technically accomplished at teachers discretion to ensure the best & safest dance education for your child.

Performance Company
Ages 6 and  up
Minis Ages 6-7 | Juniors Ages 8-10 | Teen Ages 11-13| Senior Ages 14-17
This program is available through RCD faculty invitation for students who are physical able, technically qualified, and dedicated to pursuing a rigorous course of study.

  • Company Members attend 1 convention, 2-3 competitions per year in addition to the Annual Performance.
  • Additional performance opportunities may be available through out the year for our company dancers.
  • We are striving to grow and stretch as dancers, to improve our technique, to experience performing for audiences, receiving constructive criticism, and ultimately, to enjoy the art of dance.

Private Lessons
Ages 6 and up

  • Private Lesson Students will receive a one on one lesson. These lessons can be used to work on choreography the student is wants to improve upon from his/her classes, or skills the students wants to improve upon.
  • Private lessons are 30 min and are available on a limited, first come, first serve basis. Students can enroll in a one time, 4 week, or standing weekly (September-May) private lesson.
  • Students can enroll in a private lesson in any genera, technique, or style.
  • One time and 4 week Private Lessons must be paid for when reserving the Lesson. Standing weekly privates running September-May will be added into your monthly tuition. Private Lessons do not receive the multi –class or unlimited package discount. 



Class Descriptions 2017-2018

Tiny's Program:
  • Tiny's Ballet Buddies- Dancers & Parents will meet for 30 min once a week to learn the basics of dance together! These foundational tools include classical Ballet positions and arms, rhythm and musicality, and spatial awareness. This class is a ton of fun for the little ones, and YOU! Our Tiny dancers MAY perform one dance in the Annual Performance depending on class interest and ability. Our goal in this class is to introduce your child to the world of dance while building confidence and independence! :) 
  • Tiny's Ballet: Dancers will meet for 30 min once a week to learn the basics of dance. These foundational tools include classical Ballet positions and arms, rhythm and musicality, and spatial awareness. This class is a ton of fun for the little ones! Our Tiny dancers will perform one dance in the Annual Performance. Dancers in this class should be able to attend class and follow directions with out the need of a parent/guardian.
Foundational Program:

  •  Tap, Jazz, Ballet Combo Classes- This class is a stepping stone to establish a strong start to your child's training. They will learn the fundamentals of Ballet, Tap, and Jazz in an hour long weekly class. They will perform 2-3 dances in the Annual Performance.

Power Program: Must have RCD Staff approval to enroll in Intermediate/Advanced Classes.
  • Acrobatics- develops flexibility, strength, and coordination. This class focuses on floor exercise and tumbling. Combination of technique and choreography. It is preferred that Acro dancers are enrolled in a Foundational or Intensive program. Acrobatics students will perform one dance in the Annual Performance.
  • Tap- The rhythm and movement of tap, created by the metal taps on the heels and toes of a dancer’s shoes, transforms the dancer into a percussive musician. Tap dance emphasizes the flow of movement by teaching the dancer to find rhythms and beats in music as well as their own bodies. Tap students will learn & perform one dance in the Annual Performance. 
  • Hip Hop- These classes teach the fundamentals of hip hop movement. They are upbeat and high energy classes. Stretching, isolations, rhythms, musicality, upper body strength and funky footwork will all be incorporated. It is preferred that Hip Hop students are also enrolled in the foundational or intensive program class. Hip Hop dancers will perform one dance in the Annual Performance. Must have RCD Staff approval to enroll in Intermediate/Advanced Classes.
Intensive/ Company Program: All Intensive Classes are required for Company Members
  • Ballet Technique- This TECHNIQUE ONLY class builds upon the foundational fundamentals of Ballet dance- core body strength, arms (port de bras) and correct turn out based on a student’s anatomy and muscular development is emphasized at the barre. Center work is focused on the basics of adagio (slow controlled combination), pirouettes, beginner/intermediate turns across the floor, petit allégro and grand allégro.
 
  • This class is required for students enrolled in Contemporary Choreography. 
  • Skills & Conditioning- This TECHNIQUE ONLY class helps to understand proper placement and shapes of many of the more difficult dance steps through basic floor stretches. It is designed to increase flexibility & strength levels to be able to execute more difficult jumps, turns, leaps, and holds. It also focuses on the progressions of  Jazz, Ballet, and Contemporary variations of intermediate/advanced leaps and turns. This class is designed for students with a desire to improve and excel at a rapid pace. This class is required for students enrolled in Teen & Senior Jazz Choreography. 
  • Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT)-  This TECHNIQUE ONLY class is an innovative program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet. This is class is required for Teen & Senior Company members.
  • Contemporary/Lyrical Choreography- a CHOREOGRAPHY ONLY class that allows students further develop ballet discipline, and skill sets, while applying them to story-telling. Students in this class will work on choreography for their dance that will be performed in the Annual Performance & competition(Company Students Only). Students in this class must also be enrolled in Ballet Technique.
  • Jazz Choreography-  This  CHOREOGRAPHY ONLY class emphasizes intermediate/advanced jazz steps, vocabulary, body placement, stretch, rhythm and musicality. Students work on correct body alignment, coordination, isolations, strength, and flexibility while learning choreography to be performed in our Annual Performance. Students in this class will perform 1 Jazz dance in the Annual Performance. Students enrolled in this class must also enrolling  Skills & Conditioning.
  • Production Choreography-Pre-Company/Company Class- Production Choreography allows all 4 levels of company members to come together to learn a contemporary dance piece to be performed at competition as well as in our Annual Performance & other local performance opportunities. Pre-Company/Company Class- Production Choreography allows all 4 levels of company members to come together to learn a contemporary dance piece to be performed at competition as well as in our Annual Performance & other local performance opportunities. 
    **If you are NOT a company member but wish to participate in the Production, contact Miss Alana! :) We would love to have you participate. ALL dancers in the Production number will be required to attend both competitions.**
